The transforming alloy toy "DX Chogokin" series, launched by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., has officially announced the commercialization of the protagonist machine from "Macross 7," the "VF-19 Custom Fire Valkyrie (Excalibur Basara Nekki Special)". Detailed information will be released on April 24, 2025.
The VF-19 Custom Fire Valkyrie, which appeared in "Macross 7," is a special experimental unit modified from the "YF-19 Excalibur" developed by Shinsei Industry Co. as part of the New U.N. Spacy's "Project Super Nova." It was piloted by Basara Nekki, the vocalist of the band FIRE BOMBER, as part of the top-secret "Sound Force Project" to test the song energy system. The entire unit is equipped only with defensive wing-mounted laser cannons and leg micro-missile pods; its primary weapon is the "song" emitted from its massive speakers, and it can even fire special speaker warheads to force opponents to listen to music.

TAMASHII has announced that the "DX Chogokin VF-19 Custom Fire Valkyrie" will feature various new mechanisms. The currently released product preview images also show that the mouth, which is merely decorative in the original design, can be recreated in an open-singing pose through interchangeable parts. It will also include a mini-figure of "Basara Nekki" playing his guitar, allowing for the recreation of his passionate and cool singing scenes.
