Japan's long-established confectionery company Furuta Seika (フルタ製菓) will release a new product in its popular Choco Egg series, themed after the recently released movie in Japan, "Detective Conan: The One-Eyed Afterimage". This "Furuta Choco Egg (Detective Conan 5)" collectible toy has a suggested retail price of 308 JPY per egg and is scheduled for release on May 19, 2025!
"Detective Conan: The One-Eyed Afterimage" is the 28th theatrical film adaptation of Japanese manga artist Gosho Aoyama's best-selling manga series "Detective Conan". The story follows a series of events triggered when a Nagano Prefecture police officer, pursuing a criminal in the snowy Yatsugatake mountain range, is engulfed by an avalanche. It premiered in Japan on April 18, while its release in Taiwan is scheduled for June 25, and is highly anticipated!
This "Furuta Choco Egg (Detective Conan 5)" will include one "The One-Eyed Afterimage"-themed mini-figure with each egg, featuring characters from the movie as either full-body figures or busts. There are a total of 16 types available, including Conan Edogawa, Ai Haibara, Ayumi Yoshida, Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya, Genta Kojima, Shinichi Kudo, Ran Mouri, Kogoro Mouri, Rei Furuya, Yuya Kazami, Takaaki Morofushi, Kansuke Yamato, Yui Uehara, Hyoue Kuroda, the Criminal, and one secret version! The Detective Boys members appear in police uniforms, striking a salute pose, while the other adult characters, with the exception of the crouching criminal searching a box, are rendered as busts, reproducing character details at a small scale. Lining up all 16 figures will undoubtedly be an impressive sight!
