American toy manufacturer McFarlane Toys has officially unveiled its latest product in the "Build a Figure" 6-inch action figure series, based on the classic DC animated series "Batman: The Animated Series": the "H.A.R.D.A.C."! It is currently available exclusively on the official website of US retail group Target, with a suggested retail price of US$29.99.
Airing from 1992 to 1995, "Batman: The Animated Series" utilized the then-new Dark Deco production technique, allowing it to maintain the dark color palette and tone of the original Batman comics. Its soundtrack, art style, and other aspects were also unique, not only depicting Batman fighting crime and meticulously investigating the truth, carefully portraying his identity as a "detective," but also providing thorough characterization and adaptation of the villains, even boldly innovating their appearances. It is a super classic that cannot be overlooked when discussing Batman, with charm that resonates across all generations!
This time's protagonist, H.A.R.D.A.C., is a supercomputer that appeared in "Heart of Steel," created by scientist Karl Rossum initially to aid human technological development. However, as the story progressed, H.A.R.D.A.C. gradually evolved into a self-aware, highly dangerous AI. It launched a plan to secretly replace Gotham City's high-ranking officials with robots, even creating a robotic clone of Gotham's Dark Knight, "Batman."H.A.R.D.A.C. stands for Holographic Analytical Reciprocating Digital Computer
This BAF action figure, H.A.R.D.A.C., is the first from the Batman animated series and meticulously recreates the robotic clone of Batman from the show. In addition to crafting a damaged Batman head with red eyes and a gray robot head sculpt, the exposed wires and damaged detailing on the chest are also incredibly impressive. The accessories are fantastic, including a black fabric cape with a Batman cowl, a long sword, and multiple interchangeable hands. As a Build-A-Figure where collecting four figures completes a Bruce Wayne, you can obtain a Bruce Wayne head sculpt and a suitcase containing the Batsuit – it's incredibly appealing!
