Japan's official Mobile Suit Gundam Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, has announced that the latest limited-edition product from the theatrical animation "Mobile Suit Gundam UC," "MG 1/100 Unicorn Gundam [Recirculation Color / Clear Neon Green]," will be available for sale at various stores starting May 31, 2025.
The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam is a Newtype-exclusive experimental mobile suit developed in cooperation with Anaheim Electronics during the final phase of the Earth Federation Forces' "UC Project." To verify the ultimate capabilities of the "Psycho-Frame" that brought about miracles during the Second Neo Zeon War, it was the first to fully construct its movable frame using the Psycho-Frame. Normally appearing in its pure white Unicorn Mode, when a Newtype pilot activates the "NT-D System," the mobile suit's limitations are released, and it begins to transform, revealing its internal Psycho-Frame which emits light. By directly controlling the mobile suit via brainwaves, it achieves reaction speeds and mobility beyond human comprehension.
The "MG 1/100 Unicorn Gundam [Recirculation Color / Clear Neon Green]" is a modified version based on the regular release from 2010. The original pure white exterior armor parts have been replaced with "recycled materials (eco-plastic)," creating a cool, jet-black appearance. The Psycho-Frame, on the other hand, is made from "light-gathering resin" clear parts, which can absorb incident light on its own, creating a self-illuminating effect. Additionally, the product will include special marking stickers symbolizing the concept of sustainability.
Aside from the colors, the specifications are identical to the regular version. Each armor part can reproduce the transformation from "Unicorn Mode" to "Destroy Mode" through its movable mechanisms. The head antenna not only features movable specifications for transformation but also offers the option to replace it with two fixed parts for either closed or open configurations. The armament includes a Beam Magnum, Beam Sabers, and a Shield.
