BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, under its S.H.Figuarts action figure brand, has launched a new product based on the popular anime "One Piece" – the "Monkey D. Luffy -Gear 5 Egghead Island-" action figure. It is priced at 11,000 JPY and is scheduled for release in October 2025!
The "Egghead Island Arc" immediately follows the "Wano Country Arc," marking the thirty-second arc of "One Piece" and the first arc of its final saga. After causing chaos on Onigashima in Wano Country and becoming the Fifth Emperor, the Straw Hat Pirates finally arrive at Egghead Island, the legendary scientist Dr. Vegapunk's abode. While gradually uncovering the truth of the world, Luffy, having awakened his Gear 5 ability, also engages in battle on the island with Rob Lucci and Kizaru, who are pursuing him!
This "Monkey D. Luffy -Gear 5 Egghead Island-" figure stands approximately 15.5 cm tall. It appears to be based on the "Monkey D. Luffy -Gear 5-" figure released last April, recreating his shirtless appearance after removing his futuristic attire for his battle with Lucci. The arms also feature an internal wire design, allowing for more freedom in posing combat stances once the shirt is removed. This time, new interchangeable extended arm and leg parts with Armament Haki coloring have been added, allowing for the recreation of his powerful dynamic movements during his confrontation with Lucci on the island! Accessories include three sets of interchangeable hands, three interchangeable face parts, one goggle-wearing hair part, and one exaggerated running leg effect part, which can be combined with the dedicated stand to recreate his highly cartoonish appearance from the series!
Furthermore, this release continues the S.H.Figuarts One Piece series' characteristic feature by including an interchangeable aged face part for Luffy after using Gear 5. This can be displayed together with the "Monkey D. Luffy -Egghead Island-" figure, which is scheduled for release in May!
