Japanese model manufacturer Hasegawa (株式会社ハセガワ) is launching a collaboration project between its classic "MechatroWeGo (メカトロウィーゴ)" series and "Mazinger Z." The 1/20 scale "20 MechatroWeGo Mazinger Z" assembly model is scheduled for release on August 2, 2025, with a suggested retail price of 3,600 JPY.
Designed by Japanese model maker and 3DCG artist "Kazushi Kobayashi," MechatroWeGo stands out in the robot assembly model genre with its iconic rounded aesthetic. Beyond its rich color variations, special collaboration versions with popular franchises are particularly beloved by toy enthusiasts. The most common scales currently are 1/35 and 1/20, which are indicated by the leading number in the product name.
This "20 MechatroWeGo Mazinger Z," serving as the first installment of the Mazinger Z collaboration (マジンガーコラボ Vol.1), is made with many new parts and stands approximately 14.5 cm tall upon completion. The molded parts and stickers reproduce the original color scheme (原作カラー) of black and gray accented with red. The overall design fully retains Mazinger Z's refined lines and characteristic features, and the Pilder's wings also have movable mechanisms, allowing for recreation of the classic "Pilder On!" scene.
