Japan's CyberZ company has announced the latest PVC finished scale figure product, "Homura Akemi," from the anime "Puella Magi Madoka Magica," slated for release in May 2026.
The protagonist, Homura Akemi, was originally an introverted girl who had just recovered from a heart condition. After transferring to Mitakihara Middle School, she became close friends with Madoka Kaname and, under Madoka's guidance, became a Magical Girl. However, Madoka died during the "Walpurgisnacht" attack. Homura, possessing time manipulation magic, repeatedly reversed time in an attempt to prevent this, but only cycled through the same outcome. This ultimately led Madoka to become the "Law of Cycles," a god-like entity that prevents all Magical Girls from turning into Witches. Although the ending seemed perfect, it left an eternal void in Homura's heart. As her desire for her beloved friend's return gradually twisted, she was willing to become a "Devil" opposing God to bring salvation to Madoka.
Released to commemorate the 15th anniversary of "Puella Magi Madoka Magica," the "Homura Akemi 1/7 Scale Figure" is sculpted by Design COCO. It features an original pose depicting Homura in battle, utilizing firearms such as pistols, heavy machine guns, and rocket launchers. Her entire Magical Girl outfit is meticulously recreated with precise sculpting, and combined with her flowing dark hair and skirt design, the piece exudes a dynamic sense of motion.
The most distinctive feature of this product is the "Soul Gem," the source of Magical Girls' power and the link to their lives in the series, which has been designed as a large base for the figure itself. It boasts an impressive height of approximately 36 cm, with intricate sculpting and color application to convey detailed carvings and metallic textures. Combined with the magnificent purple effects representing magical power, it vividly portrays Homura breaking free from the Soul Gem's cage and fiercely fighting against fate.
