Japanese model manufacturer M.I.Molde's character model kit brand 'cavico', which commercializes works from numerous creators, announced the latest product from "Rebuild of Evangelion," "CHOIPLA EVANGELION Unit-01," scheduled for release in August 2025.
The 'CHOIPLA' series is a model kit product created by the cavico design team, adopting a unique "MeChaCoRo style" with a large head and small legs. It reinterprets famous robot characters from Japanese anime and manga into cute, chibi-style forms. Each product is typically made from a single molded color and dozens of parts, resulting in a finished height of only about 5 cm. The sculpting is quite precise, and it can be painted to one's liking.
The newly announced product, "EVANGELION Unit-01," features style design by Japanese mechanical designer moi(Moino), known for the "JGSDF Type 07-III Tank Nacchin" series. Unit-01 is rendered in a round, chibi-style with a large head and small legs, while also retaining the characteristic details of its restraints (armor) from the original work through sharply sculpted parts.
Accessories will include weapons such as the "Electromagnetic Rifle," "High-Vibration Particle Knife," and "Umbilical Cable," which can be equipped on the left and right hands and the cable port on the back, respectively.
