The plastic model kit series "MODEROID," released by the Japanese brand MECHA SMILE, has announced its latest product, the "SARG," from the anime "Argento Soma," scheduled for release in December 2025.
The Japanese sci-fi anime "Argento Soma," aired in 2000, depicts Earth being attacked by aliens in 2059, leading the human military to form the special unit "Funeral Company" and using five state-of-the-art variable mobile weapons, the "SARG" (棺材), to combat them. This fighter utilizes an "Alien Motor" developed from alien technology as its power source, possessing flight capabilities that surpass existing Earth fighters, as well as a transformation mechanism to switch between fighter and robot forms. It can use a liquid explosive rifle to attack the aliens' weak point, their "head."
The "MODEROID SARG" is produced using multi-color molded parts and stickers, standing approximately 14 cm tall upon completion and featuring a design faithful to its in-series appearance, recreating its cool stealth fighter-like armor and characteristic robust limb contours. It also includes water-slide decals to reproduce the markings of units 1 through 5. Each joint features a flexible articulation design, allowing for dynamic combat poses.
By replacing certain parts, the SARG's transformed fighter form can be recreated. It also includes replacement landing gear parts for its parked state. The cockpit can be configured as either a single-seater or a two-seater, and comes with two mini pilot figures that can be placed inside. For weaponry, it includes a rifle and a Claymore. The rifle can be equipped with an electronic scope part and a cable part that connects to the main body.
