BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the release of two new original products from the 'LINK TRAVELERS' series, which spans both Shokugan and Gashapon toy categories: "LINK TRAVELERS ~World Dominated by Machines~ SIDE:C" and "LINK TRAVELERS ~World Dominated by Machines~ SIDE:G". These Shokugan and Gashapon items are scheduled to be released in late May 2025.
The story of 'LINK TRAVELERS' is set in a world that collapsed after a massive disaster. Mechanical dolls, installed with human thought patterns, went berserk, driving humanity into an underground world and establishing complete rule. Some humans chose to organize a resistance army to fight back and reclaim their freedom, and the endless war between the two sides continues to this day...
The products include the Shokugan product line "SIDE:C" and the Gashapon product line "SIDE:G". Both will feature a series of original character bodies, weapons, armor, and other accessories with common specifications. The difference lies in the Shokugan and Gashapon versions having their own exclusive color schemes and equipment, allowing for free combination of bodies and accessories from both lines.
The character bodies are an evolution of Bandai's previous 'GASHAPON QUEST' series, standing approximately 7.5 to 8 cm tall. The sculpting, articulation, and expandability have all been upgraded. For equipment, the molding hardness of certain clothing items like coats has been reduced, and the dressing method has been changed to eliminate the need for replacement parts, allowing for a greater variety of equipment to be stacked on the body, thereby increasing visual information and conveying a sense of heavy equipment.
