BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan business division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the release of two new Gashapon products from its original 'LINK TRAVELERS' series, which spans both Shokugan and Gashapon toy categories. These new items, 'LINK TRAVELERS ~Character Collection 01 feat. Vehicle~' and 'LINK TRAVELERS ~Infiltration of the Blue Building Arc~ SIDE:G', are scheduled for release in June 2025.
The story of 'LINK TRAVELERS' is set in a world devastated by a massive catastrophe. Mechanical dolls, imbued with human thought patterns, have gone rogue, driving humanity into an underground world and establishing complete dominion. A portion of humanity has chosen to form a resistance, fighting back to reclaim their freedom. The endless war between the two sides continues to this day...
The product line includes the Shokugan product line "SIDE:C" and the Gashapon product line "SIDE:G". Both will feature a series of original character base bodies with common specifications, along with weapons, armor, and other accessories. The difference lies in the Shokugan and Gashapon versions having their own exclusive color schemes and equipment, allowing for free combination of base bodies and accessories from both lines.
The character base bodies are an evolution of Bandai's previous 'GASHAPON QUEST' series, standing approximately 7.5 to 8 centimeters tall. They feature upgraded sculpting, articulation, and expandability. For equipment, the molding hardness of certain clothing items like coats has been reduced, and the dressing method has been changed to eliminate the need for part replacement. This allows for stacking a wider variety of equipment on the figures, thereby increasing visual detail and conveying a sense of heavy armament.
