【Zang Dao Model】A Top-Tier Value Alloy Figure: Genesis Series - Divine Punishment, The Second Release

This Divine Punishment is the second release in the Genesis Series by Zang Dao Model. Within the series, Divine Punishment and Tian Wei are known as brother units, both belonging to the "Tian" (Heaven) lineage.

This is a pre-assembled, articulated alloy toy. Although it's marketed as an alloy toy, the die-cast content is minimal, primarily used in some of the joints. The overall weight is light, making it very suitable for handling and play.

Articulation:

For an alloy toy, its articulation is quite impressive. At such an affordable price, the value is truly exceptional. Handling it during the photoshoot was a joy, as it effortlessly achieved a wide variety of poses. The joints are not excessively tight, and the parts feel very secure. The overall joint integrity is solid, with no issues of weak ankles or wrists.

Paint Application:

Due to the thin paint layer on the outer armor, it is very prone to scratching during play. Accidental scrapes can easily occur at certain joint areas, leading to unfortunate blemishes. After one session of handling, the paint surface on my copy was covered in scratches. Aside from the easily scratched outer armor, the paint application on other parts and the fine details is very well-executed. The outer armor also features decals that add an extra layer of detail.

Armaments & Accessories:

The full set of armaments includes the two rail cannons on the backpack, a physical shield (which doubles as a jet nosecone), a physical sword, and two beam effect parts. The physical shield can combine with the backpack to form a support craft. The physical sword can also be integrated with the shield to create a sword-shield combination. If you also own Tian Wei, the backpack of this Divine Punishment is interchangeable with it.

Below is a simple unboxing and review for everyone to enjoy.

▼【Zang Dao Model】Genesis Series Second Release: Divine Punishment Articulated Figure

▼The box art features a dynamic pose of the figure holding two guns.

▼The "02" signifies that this is the second release in the Genesis Series.

▼Produced by Zang Dao Model.

▼The back of the box displays line art from the series.

▼Both the top and bottom openings are sealed with tape.

▼A battery is included inside, so no separate purchase is necessary.

▼The contents are neatly arranged in two simple trays.

▼One instruction manual is included. Interestingly, the manual doesn't explain how to combine the shield with the backpack to form the support craft—you'll have to figure that out on your own! XD

▼Be sure to read the important information in the instruction manual carefully.

▼Inner tray sealed with tape.

▼One battery included.

▼The main figure.

▼The head features a light-up effect, which is activated by the included magnetic switch.

▼The paint job is very detailed. Aside from the thin and easily scratched paint on the outer armor, the finish and detailing on other parts are impeccable.

▼Both shoulders feature different decal designs.

▼Various parts of the outer armor are detailed with different decals.

▼Color separation on the side skirt armor.

▼The arm can be easily raised horizontally to a 90-degree angle.

▼The shoulder joint can be extended outwards, allowing the arms to reach further forward.

▼Close-up of the upper body.

▼The legs, which are prone to paint scratches.

▼The details on various parts of the legs feature color separation.

▼To accommodate the ankle articulation, panels on the inner and outer sides of the foot can be flipped up to avoid interference.

▼Side view.

▼The hardpoints on the outer side of the legs can be used to mount parts.

▼The back of the leg has a two-layer armor design.

▼The armor can be flipped open, but unfortunately, it's empty inside with no thruster details.

▼In the closed state.

▼Rear view.

▼Backpack mounting port.

▼Articulation demonstration - kneeling pose.

▼In today's market for articulated mecha alloy toys, this level of articulation for a kneeling pose is considered a basic standard.

▼With the backpack attached, the overall impression of the mecha changes significantly.

▼The hardpoints on the legs can be used for mounting additional parts.

▼I've chosen to mount the side parts onto the backpack wings instead (the studio photos show them mounted on the legs).

▼Rear view with full armaments.

▼Arm articulation demonstration.

▼Extended joint.

▼Both shoulders.

▼A scratched knee. The whole figure really is very, very prone to scratching! XD

That concludes this unboxing review, and I hope you enjoyed it. Besides the paint being easy to scratch during play, I have no other major complaints. For this price, the paint application and articulation are perfectly acceptable. It's a great figure to keep on your desk at home or in the office for occasional posing and handling. Even if it gets a few scratches, it won't break your heart. Below are some studio photos for you to enjoy.
