Since the release of Rivendell in 2023 and Barad-dûr in 2024, the editor has always harbored a wish for a LEGO rendition of a classic scene: Gandalf's "You Shall Not Pass!" Unexpectedly, it's actually going on sale on June 1, 2025! Let's quickly take a look at the "10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook" making its debut in the LEGO Icons series.
Updated on May 28, 2025:

In the latter half of "The Fellowship of the Ring," the powerful scene of Gandalf confronting the Balrog is undoubtedly one of the classic moments that Lord of the Rings fans never tire of watching. In the lore of "The Lord of the Rings," Balrogs, like Saruman and Gandalf, were originally Maiar; however, they fell due to serving Morgoth. After Morgoth's defeat, the Balrogs lay dormant deep within Khazad-dûm. However, as time passed, the Balrog was awakened by Dwarves seeking to mine more Mithril, thus becoming the nightmare of Durin's Folk. The Balrog possesses many titles, including the Balrog of Moria, Flame of Udûn, and Durin's Bane, and its power is formidable.

This Gandalf vs. Balrog scene, commercialized as a book nook with a total of 1201 pieces, stands approximately 22 cm tall, and when fully extended, its length reaches an astonishing 44 cm. Not only does it incorporate elements of the roads, great hall, and the Bridge of Khazad-dûm from the Mines of Moria into the book nook structure, but the Balrog's powerful wings are also fixed to it. As the book nook expands, the Balrog's wings gradually unfurl, holding a fiery whip, with raging flames erupting around it, ready to engulf Gandalf before it. The construction of the Balrog itself is highly anticipated, and upon closer inspection, one can even spot the words "You Shall Not Pass!" on the base beneath Gandalf, which makes the editor incredibly excited! This is definitely a must-buy to display alongside the novels!
