Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, will re-release a new product under its S.H.Figuarts "Shinkocchou Seihou" series with new colors: the "Kamen Rider New 1 Glorious Showa Rider Edition" action figure. The suggested retail price is 11,000 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in November 2025!
First aired in 1971, "Kamen Rider" is a tokusatsu TV series created by Shotaro Ishinomori and produced by Toei. It tells the story of Takeshi Hongo, a brilliant and athletic young scientist who is kidnapped by the evil organization Shocker and transformed into a cyborg. Just as they were about to perform the final brain modification, Hongo seized the opportunity to break free and rescue his mentor, Dr. Midorikawa. To protect human freedom, he transforms into "Kamen Rider 1" and battles Shocker.
This "Kamen Rider New 1 Glorious Showa Rider Edition" stands approximately 14.5 cm tall. Based on the version released in 2017, the color scheme reinterprets and redefines the New 1 design after Hongo's power-up. The overall color palette is more vibrant, and the iconic red scarf around the neck is now made of fabric material. Coupled with the weathered details on the leather suit, it exudes a full sense of Showa romance!
For accessories, a new pair of interchangeable hands for a hands-on-hips pose has been added, bringing the total to six left and seven right hand parts. The original PVC scarf from the previous version is now provided as an accessory in two different styles, which can be swapped using a dedicated neck part! Furthermore, as a first-run limited bonus, a large display base featuring the Tachibana Racing Club logo will be included. This can be displayed together with the simultaneously announced "Kamen Rider New 2 Glorious Showa Rider Edition" and "New Cyclone Glorious Showa Rider Edition"!
