The popular candy toy series 『FW GUNDAM CONVERGE』, released by BANDAI CANDY, the candy toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., announced the latest product from the anime 《Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX》, the "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE CORE Red Gundam Set", scheduled for release in November 2025.
The gMS-α Red Gundam was originally the latest mobile suit, the "RX-78-02 White Gundam," developed by the Earth Federation Forces in Universal Century 0079. However, due to the successful snatch operation by the Principality of Zeon's ace pilot, Char Aznable, this unit, along with the Pegasus-class assault landing ship No. 1 "Pegasus," fell into the hands of the Principality of Zeon. After modifications, an "α-type psycho-communication system" was added compared to the original machine, allowing the pilot to remotely control 6 drone attackers for all-range attacks using brainwaves, ultimately becoming Char's personal mobile suit, the "Red Gundam".
The "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE CORE Red Gundam Set" recreates Ikuto Yamashita's design style in an SD proportion with a total height of approximately 5.5 cm. It meticulously produces the unique shape of the full body armor, the intricate structure around the head, and detailed color separation. This includes Char's custom colors composed of two shades of red, the metallic black of the frame and weaponry, and the purple of the head monitor, all reproduced with rich paint colors and plastic molding colors.
The weaponry also includes a beam rifle, a Gundam Hammer, a shield, and drone attackers. Both the beam rifle and shield come with two specifications for 0079 and 0085. For the drone attackers, you can choose to suspend 2 or 4 units, allowing you to recreate both the 0079 and 0085 versions.
