Japanese model company KAIYODO's plastic assembly model series "ARTPLA SCULPTURE WORKS" is launching a new Godzilla-themed product—the "Godzilla Re: Imagination" assembly model, with a suggested retail price of 8,800 JPY, scheduled for release in October 2025!
This "Godzilla Re: Imagination" assembly model stands approximately 18.5 cm tall when completed. Its inspiration comes from the static photos used for the promotion of the first 1954 "Godzilla" film. The prototype was personally sculpted by Shinobu Matsumura, a leading expert in natural history and creature modeling, combining the essence of Godzilla from different eras over 70 years to reconstruct and recreate a brand new image!
The model adopts a "base body + surface parts attachment" structural design, ensuring strength while achieving high-precision assembly, with almost imperceptible seam lines. It uses Godzilla's deep gray skin color as the molded color, achieving a high level of completion even with a straight build! The Godzilla body sculpture recreates the classic pose of biting a train, and the base part reconstructs the collapsed Nichigeki Theater and Japanese National Railways elevated tracks. These are areas where collectors can focus on painting to bring out the details, meticulously showcasing the shocking scene of Godzilla's appearance in Tokyo!
