T-ARTS "High-Speed Bento (Hayaben / Sokuben)" Gashapon: Pun-Inspired Bento Pull-Back Cars Race Onto the Scene!

Japanese toy brand T-ARTS, under TAKARA TOMY Company, has launched a highly amusing new product – the "High-Speed Bento" (tentative translation: Sokuben) Gashapon. The suggested retail price is 400 JPY per capsule, with an anticipated release in June 2025!

In Japanese films and TV shows, it's common to see delinquents or protagonists, out of boredom, eating their bento lunches well before lunchtime. This act of "eating bento early" (早く弁当を食べる - hayaku bentō o taberu) is abbreviated as "Hayaben" (早弁). This "High-Speed Bento" series plays on the homophone of "Haya" (早), meaning "early," and "Haya" (速), meaning "fast," transforming bentos into physically fast pull-back cars! The Gashapon series offers a total of five types: Hinomaru Bento, Aisaibento (Wife's Love Bento), Character Bento, Onigiri Bento, and Sandwich Bento. Each bento's contents are incredibly appetizing, and all feature a pull-back mechanism at the bottom. Simply place them on a flat surface, pull back, and release to send these delicious bentos speeding!
