Following the release of the super cute Mummy Cat last year in 2024, Japanese capsule toy manufacturer Kitan Club (キタンクラブ) is set to release a recolored sequel, the "Mummy Cat (ミイラ・キャット) Another color" gashapon, today (the 20th)! The suggested retail price is 400 Japanese Yen per capsule, with a total of five designs to collect.
When one mentions mummies, toy enthusiasts might immediately picture the tattered, bandaged figures from various films and TV shows, or the strong scent of decay, as if a terrible curse awaits if one is not careful when opening the sarcophagus. However, there's absolutely no need to worry when opening these Mummy Cats! Although the cats inside are also fully wrapped in bandages, their bodies are perfectly intact, even a little plump, staring at you with a pair of round, glistening eyes – the more you look, the cuter they become. Furthermore, even the sarcophagus's design and paintwork are meticulously crafted, with the cat's face sticking out its tongue, exuding a playful vibe; it's a gashapon series that's fantastic to collect as a complete set and display, but also enjoyable if you only get one.
The five new colors this time include "Sand Sarcophagus × Siamese Cat," "Gold Sarcophagus × Brown Tabby Cat," "Black Sarcophagus × Black Cat," "Blue Sarcophagus × Silver Tabby Cat," and "Red Sarcophagus × White Cat." If you missed the previously released Mummy Cat, you absolutely must get these new colors!
● Sand Sarcophagus × Siamese Cat (Sand × Siam)
● Gold Sarcophagus × Brown Tabby Cat (Gold × Kijitora)
● Black Sarcophagus × Black Cat (Black × Kuro)
● Blue Sarcophagus × Silver Tabby Cat (Blue × Sabatora)
● Red Sarcophagus × White Cat (Red × Shiro)
