BANPRESTO, a prize figure brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, has announced the fourth installment in its robot-themed prize figure series, 'Limit Breaker,' featuring the 'White Gundam' from the anime 'Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX,' slated for release in August 2025.
The RX-78-02 White Gundam was originally the latest mobile suit developed by the Earth Federation Forces in Universal Century 0079. It was a core component of the 'V Project,' a mobile suit development plan proposed by Amuro Ray's father, Tem Ray, and was equipped with powerful beam weapons capable of turning the tide of battle. However, as this unit was about to undergo its final tests at Side 7 colony, it was successfully seized by Zeon Principality's ace pilot Char Aznable. Along with the Pegasus-class assault landing ship No. 1, 'Pegasus,' it fell into the hands of the Principality of Zeon, crushing the Earth Federation Forces' hopes of counterattack and leading to the defeat in the One Year War.
The 'Limit Breaker White Gundam' also boasts an impressive height of approximately 28 cm. It features the unique, EVANGELION-esque design by Ikuto Yamashita, and a distinct white, red, blue, and yellow color scheme, differing from the Red Gundam. While it does not possess articulated joints, it meticulously reproduces the contours of each part of the body, with particularly high-density detail in the head, making it ideal as a striking large-scale display piece.
