The figure brand "CAPCOM FIGURE BUILDER", launched by Japan's CAPCOM company, has officially announced a new "Soft Vinyl Model" series based on their popular hunting game "Monster Hunter". The first product in the series features the classic monster "Lagiacrus", which is set to appear in the second free update for "Monster Hunter Wilds", and is scheduled for release on March 12, 2026.
The large Leviathan-type monster "Lagiacrus" first appeared in "Monster Hunter 3" on the Wii platform. It is a colossal predator at the apex of the marine ecosystem, not only possessing an extremely fierce and warlike nature and the ability to swim at high speeds in the ocean, but also equipped with an electrical organ that can store electricity or discharge attacks. The hunt for Lagiacrus in "Monster Hunter 3" utilized the then-novel underwater combat system, but both its operability and weapon balance received criticism from players. Although the main combat flow for "Lagiacrus" in its reappearance in "Monster Hunter Wilds" has been shifted to land, some elements of underwater combat have also returned.
The "CFB Soft Vinyl Model Lagiacrus" is crafted to a fierce 18 cm height and 22 cm length. While its proportions are closer to a chibi-style, low-head-to-body ratio, the overall design maintains a realistic aesthetic. Sharp, intricate details depict the hard scales and spines covering its entire body. The head further captures its menacing gaze, along with the detailed tongue and teeth inside its mouth, and a wet, glossy texture.
