BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., is launching a new product featuring the classic popular IP "Ocha-ken" (お茶犬) – the "Chocoboro Ocha-ken" (チョコボーロ お茶犬) character charms. The suggested retail price is 350 JPY per box, with an anticipated release in November 2025!
"Ocha-ken" are healing characters jointly developed by SEGA Toys and Horipro in 2002, aiming to relieve fatigue for modern people stressed by continuous work. A TV anime was released in 2006, and they have collaborated with numerous manufacturers, including McDonald's, to produce various merchandise. They are surely a childhood memory for many toy enthusiasts from the 90s to 2000s!
This time, the Chocoboro Ocha-ken will come with a random Ocha-ken character charm accompanying a matcha-flavored chocolate cookie snack. The collection features 11 types: Ryoku the Green Tea Dog, Hana the Flower Tea Dog, Chai the Milk Tea Dog, Earl the Black Tea Dog, Ron the Oolong Tea Dog, Cafe the Coffee Dog, Muha the Barley Tea Dog, Sakura the Cherry Blossom Tea Cat, Ran the Lavender Tea Cat, Min the Jasmine Tea Cat, and So the Buckwheat Tea Cat.
