BANPRESTO, the prize figure brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, has announced new products from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX": the "Red Gundam Head-Type Speaker" and the "GQuuuuuuX Head-Type Speaker," slated for release in August 2025.
In a timeline where the Principality of Zeon won the One Year War, the gMS-Ω GQuuuuuuX is the first Gundam manufactured by the Principality of Zeon military in Universal Century 0085, also known as "Gundam QuuuuuuX." This mobile suit boasts exceptional maneuverability, capable of agile movements in space. Its most significant feature is the new "Omega Psycommu System" it carries. Once activated, control switches from analog to brainwave control, allowing the mobile suit to instantly adopt offensive and defensive postures based on the pilot's direct thoughts and reactions. However, this also demands extremely high qualifications and abilities from the pilot, and prolonged use can even place a considerable burden on them.
The product renders the "GQuuuuuuX" in its Omega Psycommu System activated state as a head-type speaker, standing approximately 14 cm tall. It faithfully reproduces the rich colors and unique head antenna design. Speakers are built into both sides of the head. After inserting two AAA batteries, music can be played via the USB TYPE-C (male) to 3.5mm (male) connection device on the base.
The gMS-α Red Gundam was originally the latest mobile suit, "RX-78-02 White Gundam," developed by the Earth Federation Forces in Universal Century 0079. However, due to the successful snatch operation carried out by the Principality of Zeon's ace pilot, Char Aznable, this mobile suit, along with the Pegasus-class assault landing ship No. 1 "Pegasus," fell into the hands of the Principality of Zeon. After modifications, an "α-type Psycommu System" was added compared to the original unit, allowing the pilot to remotely control six unmanned attack drones for all-range attacks using brainwaves, ultimately becoming Char's personal mobile suit, the "Red Gundam."
The "Red Gundam Head-Type Speaker" stands 11 cm tall, faithfully reproducing the unique design by Ikuto Yamashita. It recreates the head vulcans, the "α-type Psycommu System" devices on both sides, and the insect-compound-eye-like texture of the twin-eye cameras. Speakers are built into both sides of the head. After inserting two AAA batteries, music can be played via the USB TYPE-C (male) to 3.5mm (male) connection device on the base.
