Hello, toy people! Last week, we explored the "75639 Going Merry Pirate Ship," and this week, we're bringing you another new LEGO "One Piece" set scheduled for official release on August 1st! This is also the largest set in the initial wave of "One Piece" LEGO releases in terms of piece count: "75640 The Baratie Floating Restaurant." Let's dive in and take a look.

Adapted from the "One Piece" manga created by Japanese artist Eiichiro Oda, the NETFLIX live-action series starring Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, and Emily Rudd as Luffy, Zoro, and Nami, debuted on Netflix in August 2023. In its first week, it achieved an impressive 140 million hours viewed globally within just four days. Despite significant adaptations, the live-action "One Piece," supervised by Eiichiro Oda himself, successfully preserved the classic personality traits of its popular characters. Even those unfamiliar with the original manga can enjoy this refreshing pirate world, allowing "One Piece" to break the dreaded curse of live-action adaptations.
In the NETFLIX live-action series, the sea restaurant Baratie, located in the Sambas Ocean of the East Blue, makes its official debut in the fifth episode, "Eat at Baratie!" Besides the classic fish-head element, its appearance and color scheme differ considerably from the original source material. The interior is quite spacious and features numerous outdoor patio seats. Personally, I would describe it as nothing short of magnificent. The LEGO version utilizes a large number of dark brown pieces, accented with red, gold, and teal green parts. It's a model that balances exterior accuracy with detailed interior design. Let's get a closer look.

▼ The front of the box features the familiar black background, with our main subject, the Baratie, right in the center.

▼ The bottom right corner displays the logo for the live-action "One Piece" series.

▼ Turning to the back of the box, we can see the Baratie's interior, close-ups of various sections, and its final dimensions.

▼ Here, I noticed a misprint in the specifications. The box indicates a height of 27 cm and a length of 35 cm. However, based on my actual measurements and the official website's data, the height should be 35 cm, and the length is 54 cm, giving it a truly impressive presence.

▼ This set includes a total of five wanted poster pieces. I can't wait!

▼ Let's hurry up and open it to see the contents! The 3402 pieces are divided into 27 numbered bags.

▼ There are three instruction booklets in total, so you can build it with a few friends.

▼ Opening the instruction manual reveals an introduction to the NETFLIX live-action "One Piece" series and the Baratie.

▼ There's also a guide to the sea restaurant, giving you a quick overview of its internal structure.

▼ The stickers are mainly used to add detail to the Baratie's doors, windows, and signs.

▼ Alright, let's start building! GO~~~
▼ And it's complete! First, let's take a look at this amazing sea restaurant from various angles! The powerful presence from the front is truly undeniable.

▼ From the side profile, you can see both the interior and exterior design of the restaurant. I personally love this open-style construction.

▼ Next, let's move to the back, which showcases the restaurant's interior. It's roughly divided into three levels, which we'll examine more closely later.

▼ The visual effect of being able to look inside through the fish head is very interesting!

▼ Now, let's appreciate the rich details of the Baratie! First up is the grand green main door, flanked by mermaid statues. Although the details on the wooden door are stickers, I think the effect is excellent.

▼ The deck is ready for battle! By turning a mechanism, you can make Zoro and Mihawk clash in a flurry of sword strikes!

▼ On the right is a small door connecting to the kitchen, which should be the one where Luffy and Sanji pulled Gin in during the show.

▼ The fish head, with its unique style and sense of space, simply recreates the bar counter and tables. While it can't compare to the magnificent grandeur of the series, this section is a major highlight in the LEGO model!

▼ The second-floor space is beautiful and has plenty of seating for relaxation.

▼ Turning to the back, I genuinely feel the interior design is fantastic! It's incredibly rich with features like the symmetrical spiral staircases, a rotatable multi-person seating area, black and white tiled floors, and more.

▼ The building process for the spiral staircases is a lot of fun!

▼ You can recreate the scene of the crew dining together! Though, honestly, squeezing four people in is a bit of a tight fit (haha).

▼ The left side of the first-floor interior is the kitchen, equipped with a frying pan, a stockpot, various ingredients, a sink, and a workstation. It's a small space packed with rich elements.

▼ Opening the side reveals even more kitchen utensils hidden behind the shelves.

▼ The right side is the passage leading to the bar located in the fish head.

▼ Moving up to the second floor, there are three paintings in the center at the top of the stairs.

▼ Starting from the left again, this is Zeff's office. It features a beautiful desk, a super cool chair built with special parts, a storage and display cabinet, and a currently very rare part: a Transponder Snail!

▼ The side of the hull is secured to the interior using this 1x2 dark gray piece, and this connection point is cleverly hidden inside the cabinet. Absolutely brilliant!

▼ On the right, there's a round dining table for one, and you can also see Luffy's wanted poster. By now, many of you have probably noticed that the wanted posters in the Baratie are hung in various corners of the restaurant, unlike the Going Merry we reviewed earlier, where they were stored inside the cabin. So, let's see which five wanted posters we got this time!

▼ The five wanted posters I received are: "Don Krieg, Admiral of the Pirate Armada" with a bounty of 17,000,000 Berries; "Arlong" with a bounty of 20,000,000 Berries; "Straw Hat Luffy" (with the back of Usopp's head) with a bounty of 30,000,000 Berries; the current Warlord of the Sea, "Dracule Mihawk"; and a weathered and worn poster of the Pirate King, "Gol D. Roger," with an unknown bounty! Oh, this is super exciting!

▼ Here is a look at all the wanted posters available in this set. I hope all you toy people can get the Roger poster.

▼ The top floor is the so-called treasure room, displaying numerous jewels, precious goblets, and swords. It also symbolizes Zeff's glorious past as a great pirate.

▼ In addition to the Baratie, this set also includes a comparatively tiny boat belonging to one of the Seven Warlords, "Mihawk." However, the shaping and building techniques for the boat are very interesting. I highly recommend learning how this boat is constructed.

▼ Speaking of Mihawk, we must mention his world's strongest black blade, "Yoru." The LEGO version is just as massive and cool! Of course, his ultra-miniature cross knife is also included.

▼ This set comes with a total of ten minifigures! Including Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, and Sanji's mentor and owner of the Baratie, Zeff.

▼ Also included are Marine Vice Admiral Garp, Koby, Helmeppo, and the Warlord of the Sea, Dracule Mihawk.

▼ The Baratie in the live-action series is not only much larger in scale than in the original work, but due to story adaptations, many classic scenes different from the anime take place here. This set allows you to recreate scenes like Garp and Zeff's conversation in the restaurant, and Koby and Helmeppo chatting at the bar.

▼ You can compare it with the Going Merry we reviewed previously!

LEGO 75640 The Baratie Floating Restaurant Review Summary:
As the largest set in the initial wave of "One Piece" LEGO products, both in piece count and size, the completed Baratie is truly magnificent. From my personal building experience, not only was the exterior visually stimulating and inspiring (especially the construction of the fish head), but the open-style interior structure spanning three floors is also spectacular. From the spiral staircases, the second-floor flooring, and the outdoor patio seating, to the battle mechanism on the deck, the rotatable multi-person seating, the hidden storage rack in the kitchen corner, and Zeff's office—every detail is worth savoring.
