The popular candy toy series "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE", released by Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd.'s Shokugan division BANDAI CANDY, has announced the latest product from the theatrical anime film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM", the "Destiny Gundam SpecII", slated for release in January 2026.
The ZGMF/A-42S2 Destiny Gundam SpecII, piloted by Shin Asuka, is a new mobile suit secretly recovered by the Archangel after the previous great war, then repaired and improved by Morgenroete with the latest technology. In addition to being upgraded with a cutting-edge all-around cockpit and replaced joint armor materials, its power system has also been significantly improved. The substantial increase in energy also results in a deeper color for its VPS armor.
The main unit included in the standalone release of "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE Destiny Gundam SpecII" is the same as that in the separately sold product "Destiny Gundam SpecII & Zeus Pack". It is based on a modified version of the previously released standard edition, featuring the mobile suit's characteristic "blood tears" eye design and vivid red wings. It also utilizes new color applications to reproduce the deep VPS armor color, though the body markings differ in various places.
Accessories include interchangeable hand parts, a shield, a beam rifle, a prototype 35-type modified railgun, a beam boomerangs, a stored beam boomerangs, and a high-energy long-range beam cannon. The twin wings on the back can be replaced with parts that deploy "Wings of Light" effects, and the arms can be swapped with parts featuring metallic red painted joints, recreating the appearance of the joints glowing red when performing the "Bunshin" (clone) maneuver during the final battle in the series.
