Released by BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, the 6-inch action figure series "GUNDAM UNIVERSE", designed for "Mobile Suit Gundam" fans worldwide, has announced the latest product from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX", the "gMS-α Red Gundam", scheduled for release in February 2026.
The gMS-α Red Gundam was originally the "RX-78-02 White Gundam," the latest mobile suit developed by the Earth Federation Forces in Universal Century 0079. However, due to the successful snatch operation carried out by Zeon Principality's ace pilot Char Aznable, this unit, along with the Pegasus-class assault landing ship No. 1 "Pegasus," fell into the hands of the Principality of Zeon. After modifications, an "α-type Psycho-Comm System" was added, allowing the pilot to remotely control 6 unmanned attack units for all-range attacks using their brainwaves, ultimately becoming Char's personal mobile suit, the "Red Gundam."
The overall design of the "GUNDAM UNIVERSE Red Gundam" integrates the GUNDAM UNIVERSE series style based on Ikuto Yamashita's design, faithfully reproducing its unique armor shape and Char's signature red color scheme. It is also built with the recently developed "UNIVERSAL REACTION FRAME," which significantly enhances the range of articulation compared to previous products in the series, allowing for more dynamic and powerful combat poses.
Armament accessories include a beam rifle, beam saber, shield, flail, and various interchangeable hand parts. The shield features a faithful print of the Principality of Zeon emblem, and the flail's chain is made of metal, allowing for flexible posing to capture its dynamic movement.
