GENCO TOYS, a brand established by Japanese animation production company GENCO as it enters the gashapon toy industry, has announced the second wave of its 'Hugging Series'. This new release, titled 'Hugging Gamera 2 [Part 1]', is themed after the tokusatsu kaiju film "Gamera 2: Attack of Legion". It features four different designs, with a reference price of 500 JPY per capsule, and is scheduled for release in September 2025.
The GENCO 'Hugging Gamera 2 [Part 1]' (tentative translation, 抱きつきガメラ2【前編】) gashapon recreates the two major monsters from the film, Gamera and Legion, in a compact size of approximately 6 cm. Japanese sculptor Isasa (@isanatolu), known for creating "Dragons Riding Fingers", is responsible for the coloring and sculpting. Beyond meticulously detailing Gamera's layered, serrated carapace and Soldier Legion's sharp limbs and other biological features, the figures adopt a two-armed embracing pose. They can be enjoyed as adorable companions on your fingertips or posed hugging various cylindrical objects, creating lively and amusing displays! The collection includes four types: Gamera G2 Version (Normal Color), Gamera G2 Version (Night Battle Color), Soldier Legion (TYPE 1.), and Soldier Legion (TYPE 2.)!
