A Look Back at LEGO × Stranger Things Collaborations: Character Completion Project Achieved!
LEGO's first collaboration with Stranger Things dates back to 2019 with the highly popular large-scale set "75810 The Upside Down," which recreated the Byers' house and the Upside Down dimension with an inverted structure, showcasing immense creativity and dramatic tension. It remains a classic in the hearts of many LEGO fans to this day.
▼ Released in 2019, 75810 Stranger Things The Upside Down, originally priced at US$199.99, has now doubled in value
Then in 2022, the BrickHeadz series first introduced Stranger Things characters with the "40549 Demogorgon & Eleven" duo. Its cute, stylized appearance combined with dark themes generated significant buzz among fans.
▼ The "40549 Demogorgon & Eleven" duo, released in 2022, surprisingly came out before the main quartet, and it took three more years for this set to be released – truly a peculiar arrangement...
Now, with the arrival of the new 40801 set, the main teenage squad from Hawkins is finally complete. From both a collector's perspective and storyline accuracy, this is a highly significant and representative addition to the LEGO × Stranger Things collaboration line!
Stylized Forms Achieve Divine Recreation! Each Character Bursting with Personality and Detail
While BrickHeadz maintain a consistent design proportion, LEGO masterfully uses clothing, printed elements, and part arrangements to convey strong character personalities within a minimalist framework. Set 40801 is a perfect demonstration of this.
‧ Mike: Dressed in a dark jacket and khaki pants, he exudes a calm, introverted, and strong leadership presence.
‧ Dustin: With his red and white baseball cap and cheerful, smiling face, he's one of the most recognizable members of the squad.
‧ Lucas: Featuring a red headband paired with a camouflage jacket, his look is sharp and cool, radiating a strong combat vibe.
‧ Will: Sporting a yellow striped vest and his classic hairstyle, he seems ready to be summoned by the Upside Down at any moment...
▼ Details you absolutely cannot miss: Dustin's cap brim is cleverly crafted using angled bricks, while Lucas's headband and Will's head shape also utilize specialized parts to express intricate details. LEGO once again demonstrates its "less is more" mastery in character recreation!
The BrickHeadz series has always emphasized design balance and character recognition. This set, within its limited framework, successfully materializes the classic images of the four boys, bringing a knowing smile to one's face.
