BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division in Japan, known for its "Macross" series "HG (High Grade) 1/100 scale" model kits, has announced that the protagonist's unit from the anime "Macross Frontier," the "HG 1/100 VF-25F Messiah Valkyrie (Alto Saotome's Unit)," is currently under development. The release date is yet to be determined.
Named after the savior, the VF-25 Messiah Valkyrie is the main variable fighter utilized by the New U.N. Forces escort fleet of the "Macross Frontier" emigration fleet and the private military company "S.M.S." It possesses enhanced characteristics and performance compared to previous models like the VF-19 Excalibur and VF-22 Sturmvogel. It also employs the new "EX-GEAR" pilot suit, which combines joystick and ejection seat functions, and the new "ISC" (Inertia Store Converter) inertial control system, which utilizes the FOLD system, to address the issue of excessive G-force load on pilots. However, the raw material for manufacturing ISC, "FOLD Quartz," must be extracted from the super-dimensional lifeform "Vajra," making the production cost of the unit quite high.
The Macross "HG 1/100 scale" model kit series, released by BANDAI SPIRITS, utilizes precise color separation and part division techniques to faithfully reproduce the aircraft's cool proportions and high-density detailed sculpting in 1/100 scale. It also features a "simple transformation mechanism" that allows for part swapping to recreate the three forms: FIGHTER, GERWALK, and BATTROID. Additionally, it includes five-layer structured stickers made with aluminum vapor deposition on PET film. Recently, the series has also introduced "embedded injection molding technology," enabling complex lines and color blocks on the aircraft to be realized with a single part. We can eagerly anticipate how the "Messiah Valkyrie's" cool design will be interpreted!
