CAPCOM Co., Ltd. of Japan, in collaboration with renowned monster sculptors, has announced the latest product in their "Monster Hunter" statue series, "CAPCOM FIGURE BUILDER Creator's Model": "Rathalos Ver. 2.0". This new interpretation is based on the first model released in 2010. The suggested retail price is 22,000 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in January 2026.
Rathalos, one of the most iconic monsters in the "Monster Hunter" series, is known as the "King of the Skies." Its entire body is covered in red scales, and it possesses massive wings, allowing it to fly for extended periods with remarkable agility. With excellent eyesight, it can precisely pinpoint prey even from high altitudes. Its high-speed dive attacks and powerful poisonous talons are formidable, but its most iconic ability is to unleash scorching flames from its mouth, incinerating everything to ash! It dominates the entire airspace.
The "CAPCOM FIGURE BUILDER Creator's Model Rathalos Ver.2.0" was sculpted by Tatsuya Furuichi, a disciple of renowned monster sculptor Ryu Oyama. Based on evolved in-game models, this new interpretation brings Rathalos to life in a dominant pose, with its massive wings spread wide, looking down from above. Crafted at approximately 36 cm in height, it captures a dynamic pose perched on a rock formation. The vibrant paintwork faithfully reproduces the red scales covering its entire body, with intricate details on the dragon scales and wing membrane patterns. It can be displayed alongside Rathian to recreate a scene of them guarding their nest in the air.
