A strange creature (lol) has snuck into the "Chinza-juu" collection series, released by BANPRESTO, a prize brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, which reinterprets monster designs in a Q-version scale! It's the "Approval-Seeking Monster" (承認欲求モンスター) from "Bocchi the Rock!", who craves more likes and seems to feed on internet traffic! It is scheduled to be released as a prize item in December 2025.
In episode four of the "Bocchi the Rock!" anime, "Jumping Girl(s)", when Hitori "Bocchi" Gotoh was taking band promotional photos with the members of Kessoku Band, Nijika suggested she also create a social media account. This made the already rambling Bocchi, who was lying on the ground, have an even more severe meltdown. It even caused the imaginary Tsuchinoko (Notsuchi snake) to transform upon contact with that thing (referring to social media), giving birth to the colossal "Approval-Seeking Monster"! Later, only when Kita shouted, "Forget about SNS!", did Bocchi snap back to reality and continue with the band photo shoot.
The Chinza-juu series, which has always focused on "cool × cute," previously released works like Rathalos and Burning Godzilla (1995), which incorporated a wealth of biological details into their low-head-to-body ratio figures, possessing both powerful presence and rich information. This time, the surprising "Chinza-juu Approval-Seeking Monster" is entirely cute! Standing approximately 12 cm tall, it perfectly recreates Bocchi's rounded appearance in the monster costume, meticulously reproducing her signature expression, tear-drop printing, and the monster eyes on the hood. Coupled with the "give me likes, more likes!" thumbs-up gesture and a substantial tail, it's a must-buy!
