Issued by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, the "METAL ROBOT Damashii" series, which combines metallic texture painting and an alloy frame, has announced its latest product from the theatrical anime film "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack," the "RX-93 ν Gundam," slated for release in January 2026.
The RX-93 ν Gundam is a custom mobile suit designed with the participation of Earth Federation Forces' Newtype ace pilot Amuro Ray. It confronted Char during the Second Neo Zeon War in UC 0093. This machine returned to its original design philosophy of simplicity, versatility, and durability, featuring micro-thrusters throughout its body. It also incorporated "Psycho-Frame" technology and was equipped with "Fin Funnels" capable of all-range attacks, significantly enhancing the machine's structural strength, mobility, and Amuro's Newtype abilities.
The "METAL ROBOT Damashii RX-93 ν Gundam" is a modification based on the previously released Double Fin Funnel Equipment Type. It adopts the same alloy frame design, with parts such as the chest, shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and feet made from alloy components. The robust joint strength allows for stable posing even when equipped with the "Fin Funnels," which shift the center of gravity.
The overall exterior styling utilizes newly sculpted parts for the shoulder armor, chest armor, beam rifle, and shield, recreating the theatrical anime setting which differs from the Double Fin Funnel Equipment Type. It boasts a refined and cool appearance that closely matches the anime design drafts, along with intricate details such as foot thruster nozzles, panel lines, and knee joint hydraulic rods. Furthermore, it features a heavy-feeling matte and metallic paint finish, as well as newly designed body markings, enhancing the overall texture and quality.
The armament includes classic weapons such as the beam rifle, beam saber, hyper bazooka, shield, and six Fin Funnels. The beam saber can be equipped with various beam blade effects, recreating its normal un-swung state, a dynamic horizontal slash state, and an energy-saving state that suppresses excessive energy consumption. Moreover, the six Fin Funnels can recreate their firing state through transformation mechanisms, propulsion effects, and dedicated stands!
