BANDAI CANDY, the shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product from its popular 'FW GUNDAM CONVERGE' shokugan series, the 'FW GUNDAM CONVERGE CORE Hathaway's Flash Set,' inspired by the animated film Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash, slated for release in March 2026.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash is adapted from the novel of the same name by director Yoshiyuki Tomino. Set in Universal Century 0105, 12 years after the animated film Char's Counterattack, the Earth Federation government is rife with privileged high-ranking officials who have privatized Earth and rule with arrogance, utterly corrupt. Hathaway Noa, son of Captain Bright Noa, witnessed countless lives lost during the Second Neo Zeon War. "Amuro, Char... were the sacrifices of so many people meaningless?" Knowing these evils, Hathaway resolves to inherit their will, becoming the leader of the anti-government organization "Mafty Navue Erin," and initiates terrorist actions against corrupt Federation officials, aiming to liberate Earth from bureaucratic dictatorship and return it to nature, allowing all humanity to live equally in space.
The 'FW GUNDAM CONVERGE CORE Hathaway's Flash Set' is based on modifications of previously released EX30 and EX34 entries. It includes both sister units, the Ξ Gundam and Penelope. The colors have been re-adjusted to a darker, heavier tone, with metallic red accents applied to areas such as the head. Additionally, over ten new body markings have been added across the entire body, enriching the visual information of the mobile suits.
Regarding accessories, the Ξ Gundam comes with its original beam rifle and shield, and newly sculpted beam saber parts have been added. By replacing the foot parts and attaching it to the display stand, its floating state can be recreated. The Penelope also includes a new beam saber integrated with its composite weapon unit, its original beam rifle, foot parts for recreating its floating state, and a display stand. Furthermore, all FF (Fixed Flight) units on its body can be detached to reveal the internal core unit, the 'Odysseus Gundam'.
