Japanese model manufacturer MEGAHOUSE has announced the latest product in its Gundam series diorama model line, the "Realistic Model Series": the "Argama Catapult Deck Scene Set (40th Anniversary Edition)" from "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam," slated for release in late December 2025.
The Argama is a space cruiser built by the Anti-Earth Federation organization "AEUG". Its overall specifications reference the White Base from the One Year War, with enhanced performance. It features two catapult decks and can carry a maximum of 8 mobile suits, with a particular emphasis on mobile suit operational capabilities. During non-combat periods, its two side residential areas can extend outwards, rotating around the main body to generate centrifugal force, thereby simulating gravity and enhancing comfort.
The "RMS Argama Catapult Deck Scene Set (40th Anniversary Edition)" is based on the previously released standard version. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam"'s broadcast, this product includes seven newly sculpted mini character figures. These include several AEUG mobile suit pilot characters such as Kamille Bidan, Quattro Bajeena, Emma Sheen, Reccoa Londe, and Apolly Bay. Each figure comes pre-painted, requiring no additional coloring.
The Argama catapult deck is identical to the standard version, independently recreating the battleship's left-side catapult deck scene in 1/144 scale. It features high-density details such as the exterior armor and hangar interior walls. Also included are water-slide decals with various patterns, including lines, numbers, and the AEUG logo, to further enhance its appearance. Two deck extension parts are provided, allowing for free assembly into short (68cm), medium (85cm), or long (100cm) configurations, and can even be extended indefinitely. The foot catapult features a mechanism that slides from the hangar side to the deck, then slides forward from the deck for launch, simulating the mobile suit sortie process. Additionally, a wall-mounting parts set is included, allowing the catapult deck to be fixed to a wall and used as a model display stand.
