Compared to previous releases, the GM II main body simply features a color change, primarily adopting a green main tone, with the shield becoming entirely red, giving it a stronger military aesthetic.
Previously, ROBOT SPIRITS also released a parachute pack for the EZ-8, but the designs of the two are quite different; you can compare them.
This GM II version's ballute pack can be divided into the "backpack," "chest thruster," and "leg thrusters" x2.
The "nozzle" of the "chest thruster" can be adjusted in angle.
The "leg thrusters" can also be adjusted, but no effect parts can be attached.
As for the "chest thruster" and "backpack," they are connected by two wires. These two wires require a bit of careful thought to attach, but they are not difficult to handle.
The more troublesome part is the two "covers" on the legs. Using a "tool" to open them might risk damaging the main body, so it's best to slowly "pry them out" bit by bit with a fingernail.
At first glance, it might seem a bit precarious, but in fact, both the "chest" and "backpack" are installed quite securely and won't easily fall off, though manual removal is relatively simple. Since the "backpack" is plugged into both the "back" and the "rear" sections, the waist cannot be moved once the backpack is attached.
Overall, the play experience is good, and the entire ballute pack equipment is quite secure and won't easily fall off, which is commendable. However, it currently appears that this ballute pack is likely only suitable for the GM II. If one wishes to attach it to other mobile suits, it would probably not be easy, as both the backpack and chest have specially sized connectors, making it difficult to try on mobile suits like the Hyaku-Shiki.
