To commemorate the upcoming brand exhibition "TAMASHII NATION 2025," scheduled from November 14-16, 2025, BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS in Japan has announced the latest commemorative product in its transforming alloy toy "DX Chogokin" series: the "VF-1S Armored Valkyrie (Roy Focker Special)" from "Macross." The Armored Valkyrie was developed to address issues such as the Valkyrie series' relatively weak armor during ground combat. It features a full-body weapon system for Battroid mode, with thick, high-defense armor added throughout the body, and is equipped with high-speed armor-piercing projectile launchers on both arms and armor-piercing high-explosive rounds across its body. While significantly enhancing firepower and defense in ground combat, it is fixed in Battroid mode and cannot transform. To counter this, the various added armor parts also feature a separation mechanism, allowing the armor to be instantly jettisoned during combat when necessary.
The "DX Chogokin VF-1S Armored Valkyrie (Roy Focker Special)" is a modification of the previously released "VF-1S Valkyrie (Roy Focker Special)." In addition to the main unit, the "VF-1S Dedicated Armored Parts Set," which was exhibited at TAMASHII NATION 2020, has now been officially commercialized. The parts feature the same yellow and black color scheme and rich body markings as Roy Focker's machine. When the armor is equipped, the main unit boasts an impressive height of approximately 320mm, and multiple missile pods on the shoulders, chest, and calves feature interlocking hatch deployment mechanisms.
The unarmored Valkyrie (Roy Focker Special) main unit also features precise sculpting, rich color applications, and body markings. Furthermore, it boasts a complete transformation mechanism that requires no part swapping, allowing it to faithfully recreate the FIGHTER, GERWALK, and BATTROID modes thanks to its alloy frame.
