From SQUARE ENIX, Japan, the new action figure series 'PLAY ARTS -TRUE-', evolved from 'PLAY ARTS -KAI-', has announced its latest product from the game 'FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE', 'Cloud Strife', scheduled for release in February 2026.
The protagonist of 'FINAL FANTASY VII', 'Cloud Strife', claims to be a former 1st Class SOLDIER of the Shinra elite unit, wielding the colossal 'Buster Sword' and demonstrating superhuman combat abilities. At the beginning of the story, he is hired by the anti-Shinra organization 'Avalanche' and participates in multiple Mako Reactor bombing operations. Through interactions with companions like Tifa, Aerith, and Barret, Cloud's initially aloof demeanor gradually gives way to a sense of responsibility, but his fragmented memories, the meaning of the 'Buster Sword', and other secrets slowly awaken.
The 'PLAY ARTS -TRUE- Cloud Strife' is crafted with an articulated specification, standing approximately 26.7 cm tall. The articulated body is an improvement based on the 'PLAY ARTS -KAI-' series, featuring new joint parts and hip joint design. It also eliminates the ratchet articulation mechanism found in previous products, allowing for a smoother and wider range of motion. Furthermore, the eyeball parts are newly equipped with an articulation mechanism, enabling changes in gaze to match body movements.
The overall sculpt is based on the in-game 3D model, meticulously recreating the texture of the Shinra 1st Class SOLDIER uniform, Cloud's muscular physique, and his spiky golden hair. It comes with interchangeable emotionless and battle-expression face plates. Accessories include multiple pairs of interchangeable sculpted hands and 'Aerith's Flower' to be held. The powerful weapon, the 'Buster Sword', is not only finished with a heavy metallic paint application but also faithfully reproduces the Materia slots, including five different colored Materia that can be installed.
