Japan's PLEX company, with X-PLUS company as distributor, has announced the latest product from their collaborative project "Godzilla vs. Evangelion" for their popular soft vinyl figure series "DEFOREAL," which incorporates intricate realistic details into a cute deformed (Q-version) scale. The new product, "EVANGELION UNIT-01 Burning 'G' Awakened Form," is scheduled for release in November 2025. This product will be simultaneously released in both a standard edition and a limited edition.
The dream collaborative project "Godzilla vs. Evangelion," realized with Hideaki Anno's direction of "Shin Godzilla" as the catalyst, officially launched in 2016. Since then, numerous popular products featuring Godzilla and EVA appearing together have been released. Among these, the pachinko machine "P Godzilla vs. Evangelion ~G-Cell Awakening~" even featured a brand new story merging the two worlds, including a mutated form of Unit-01 after being attacked by Godzilla's atomic breath and having its body eroded by G-cells. This setting was later brought to life as a model product by PLEX, generating considerable buzz and high demand.
The "DEFOREAL EVANGELION UNIT-01 Burning 'G' Awakened Form" released this time is a modification of the previously released "G" Awakened Form. Many areas, including the head, left arm, and halo, feature newly sculpted designs. Standing at a height of 18.5 cm with a low-head-to-body ratio, it captures the fusion of Burning Godzilla and Awakened Unit-01, meticulously depicting the asymmetrical, half-biological, half-mechanical design. Red parts such as the dorsal fins are painted with fluorescent orange paint, allowing them to glow in the dark when illuminated by a blacklight.
The limited edition further incorporates an internal LED light-up mechanism. After inserting batteries and activating the lights, both eyes and the chest core will illuminate.
