The model kit series 'MODEROID', launched by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, has announced its latest product, 'Mazinsaga', from the manga "Mazinsaga", is scheduled for release in May 2026.
Go Nagai's manga 'Mazinsaga' (マジンサーガ) reinterprets some settings from the "Mazinger Z" series, creating an independent sci-fi world that incorporates psychic elements. The protagonist, Koji Kabuto, similarly faces the destiny of fighting against Emperor God Hell (Dr. Hell). However, his weapon is not the super robot "Mazinger Z", but rather the "Mazinsaga" itself, which transforms by enveloping his body in the God's Armor "Z" using 'Super Psychic Material Z', allowing him to freely change its form.
The 'MODEROID Mazinsaga' features multiple molded color parts and pre-painted parts. Once assembled, it stands approximately 17 cm tall, faithfully recreating its cool physique, fierce head sculpt, and the intricate textures and layers of its full body armor. The spherical component located along the central line of the torso is made with clear parts, while the spheres on the neck and forehead are reproduced using pre-painted parts. For the red cape on its back, collectors can choose between rigid plastic or posable fabric parts. The main weapon, a 'sword', offers two specifications: a single-hand grip or a two-hand grip, allowing for dynamic battle poses with its flexible articulation.
