Bandai Co., Ltd.'s "Bikkura Tamago" (びっくらたまご) series, a bath additive toy product that allows you to "play while bathing," is set to release its latest installment themed after "Pokémon" in September 2025. This new release, titled "Fishing for Pokémon in the Bathtub" (お風呂でポケモンつり), is specifically "Reel in! Lakeside Pokémon!" (つりあげろ！水辺のポケモン！). The suggested retail price is 715 JPY per item, with a total of seven types available for collection.
This latest installment can actually be seen as a re-release of popular Water-type Pokémon from the first to fourth waves of "Fishing for Pokémon in the Bathtub," including Magikarp, Gyarados, Sharpedo, Dratini, Slowpoke, Wailmer, and Psyduck, totaling seven Pokémon. The gameplay of this toy, which combines a bath bomb with Pokémon catching elements, is as follows: simply drop the bath bomb into the water, and after it dissolves, not only will the bathwater turn a light blue, but a Poké Ball will also float to the surface! Use the fishing rod included with the product to reel in the Poké Ball, and you won't know which Pokémon you've caught until the very last moment – it's incredibly fun! This is a toy that will undoubtedly make you want to spend an extended period in the bathtub.
