Aoshima's "PLAfig. Godzilla (1999) Assembly Model" Reproduces Highly Organic Skin Textures and Massive Dorsal Fins with Precision Parts!

Aoshima Bunka Kyozai Co., Ltd. of Japan has announced the second product in its new assembly model series, "PLAfig.", which aims for ultimate sculpting, featuring "Godzilla (1999)" from the movie "Godzilla 2000", scheduled for release in December 2025.

The "PLAfig." series is a new line of assembly models from Aoshima Bunka Kyozai, bringing together its accumulated assembly model technology with the goal of "ultimate sculptural beauty." Adopting a fixed-pose, non-articulated specification, it fully expresses rich and profound detailed sculpting. Whether it's inorganic designs like robots, which Aoshima has traditionally excelled at, or highly organic, biological character designs, the "PLAfig." series ensures they become the focal point.

For this second product, "PLAfig. Godzilla (1999)", Japanese sculptor RYO Nendo Seijin, known for his expertise in animal and monster sculpting, was invited to create the prototype. The highly organic sculpt is condensed into a 13 cm tall size, with precision assembly model parts depicting realistic details such as the tongue and teeth inside the mouth, sharp, massive lightning-bolt-shaped dorsal fins, and delicate muscle lines from the fingertips to the tip of the tail, all presented in a dynamic pose to express the King of the Monsters' advance.

The product's box art was created by illustrator "TAKA-F," who has previously drawn box art for numerous Bandai Gunpla kits, depicting the King of the Monsters standing majestically amidst fiery ruins after widespread destruction. Furthermore, orders placed for this product through the official online store "AOSHIMA ONLINE SHOP" will include a limited bonus "clear molded dorsal fin parts" set, which can be painted by the user to recreate effects such as "glowing during atomic breath."
