The HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. has announced the latest product from "Mobile Fighter G Gundam," the "HG 1/144 Mandala Gundam," from its 'HG (High Grade)' series of 1/144 scale Gunpla, known for its most diverse range of mobile suits. It is scheduled for release in November 2025.
The GF13-044NNP Mandala Gundam is the mobile suit used by New Nepal's representative Gundam Fighter, Kiral Mekirel. Its exterior design is more unique compared to other Gundam mobile suits in the series, featuring a Buddha-like head, arms and waist connected like prayer beads, and wielding a massive Shakujo (Buddhist staff) as a weapon. The lower body is crafted in the shape of a large temple bell, allowing the upper body to retract into the lower body for defense, imbued with strong Buddhist elements.
The "HG 1/144 Mandala Gundam" fully recreates the Buddha-like head sculpt using entirely new parts and employs various color-separated parts to construct the bell-shaped lower body. By replacing certain parts, the defensive posture of the upper body retracting into the lower body can be reproduced. The prayer bead-like arms and waist feature multi-axis articulation, allowing for the flexible combat poses seen in the anime. The main weapon, the "Shakujo," can be combined with a separation gimmick and effect parts to recreate its internal beam saber.
Furthermore, the model also features numerous original gimmicks conceived by Yasuhiro Imagawa, the anime director of "Mobile Fighter G Gundam." The neck scarf can be replaced with a wind-swept, flowing sculpt. It also includes 8 new "Mini Mandala Gundam" weapons, which can be displayed standing on the Shakujo with effect parts, or launched from the bell-shaped lower body.
