The 'HG (High Grade)' series of 1/144 scale Gunpla, known for its most diverse range of mobile suits, released by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced the upcoming release of the "HG 1/144 Charion's Rick Dom (GQ)" from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," scheduled for February 2026.
The Zeon military mobile suit "MS-09 Rick Dom" from the "GQuuuuuuX" timeline is, in its setting, a space-use specification modified from the ground-combat type "Dom." Designer Ikuto Yamashita redesigned its appearance based on the original "Mobile Suit Gundam" design. The overall silhouette is similar, but the limbs are more slender, and the new back design is astonishing. Not only are large thrusters added to both sides of the waist, but a "third leg" is also directly installed, allowing it to transform into a high-mobility form capable of high-speed hovering movement.
The "HG 1/144 Charion's Rick Dom (GQ)" is modified from the previously released Black Tri-Stars' machine. The molding colors of the parts have been largely replaced to reproduce the characteristic blue and black armor of Charion's dedicated machine. The armament also includes a Heat Saber, Giant Bazooka, and more. The transformation mechanism to the "High-Mobility Form" with the third leg deployed from the back can be reproduced without replacing parts.
