Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company HOBBY Division has announced the latest 1/144 scale Gunpla product, the "Option Parts Set Gunpla 19 (Fin Funnel)" from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack," scheduled for release in January 2026.
The iconic armament of the RX-93 ν Gundam, the "AEV/PFF93AR Fin Funnel," has six units mounted on the left side of its backpack. Unlike funnels that appeared in previous Universal Century series, the Fin Funnels fold into a U-shape when firing beam attacks, and their built-in small engines and AMBAC components give the beam cannons greater power and longer endurance. Pilot Amuro Ray can remotely control them via the Psycho-Frame, deploying "All-Range Attacks" and "I-Field Barriers" to defend against all-range beams in space.
The "Option Parts Set Gunpla 19 (Fin Funnel)" product includes six Fin Funnels that replicate the folding mechanism and can be interconnected, as well as the ν Hyper Bazooka, two types of Beam Sabers, a backpack, and various connection parts. Not only can it be used with the separately sold "EG 1/144 ν Gundam" main unit, but it can also serve as customization parts for other Gunpla products of the same scale, allowing for the creation of original armament styles.
