Japanese high-end statue manufacturer Prime 1 Studio's "Premium Masterline" (プレミアムマスターライン) collectible series recently announced its latest product based on The Lord of the Rings theme, the "Cave Troll" (ケイブ・トロール) 1/4 scale diorama statue bonus version! Shipping is expected to begin from November 2026 to February 2027, with a suggested retail price of 488,290 JPY (tax included), limited to 300 units.
In The Lord of the Rings story, in addition to diverse races such as Hobbits, Elves, Orcs, Dwarves, Men, Maiar, Goblins, and more, various beasts, creatures, and monsters also enrich Tolkien's vast world view. This "Cave Troll" is a ferocious creature that already appeared in The Fellowship of the Ring, possessing low intelligence but immense strength; it is said that Trolls were created based on the image of "Ents".
This piece stands at an astonishing 91 cm tall, showcasing the scene of the Cave Troll approaching in the Mines of Moria with incredible impactful size. The Troll is depicted in a leaning forward posture, accompanied by scattered fragments of stone pillars and a floor that has completely burst open from heavy impact, fully conveying the powerful Troll's presence as it swings its massive hammer, wreaking havoc while advancing! It is also accompanied by two Orcs, further escalating the danger! Upon closer inspection, one can also find a corpse holding thick books, skeletons, and a Dwarf's long-handled axe weapon within the diorama.
▼ Purchasing from the Prime 1 Studio online store also includes a bonus interchangeable head sculpt of an Orc equipped with a helmet.
