Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd.'s GASHAPON capsule toy division is launching a new product based on the classic popular anime "Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch" – the "Mermaid Melody Aqua-Pitch Transformation Device Mini Compact Mirror" Gashapon. The suggested retail price is 400 JPY per capsule, with an anticipated release in late December 2025!
"Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch" is a Japanese manga series written by Michiko Yokote and illustrated by Pink Hanamori, which was adapted into an anime in 2003 by Actas and Synergy SP. The series features seven mermaids from the seven seas who fight enemies with song and dance. Their dazzling designs and the catchy, specially translated and dubbed songs from its broadcast in Taiwan are surely cherished childhood memories for many 90s and millennial toy enthusiasts!
This "Mermaid Melody Aqua-Pitch Transformation Device Mini Compact Mirror" transforms the "Aqua-Pitch Transformation Devices" used by the mermaid princesses in the show into mini compact mirrors, approximately 4.5 cm in size. It includes all seven mermaid princesses' designs: Lucia, Hanon, Rina, Karen, Noel, Coco, and Sara. The transformation device can open just like in the series, with the lower part recreating the pearl-holding panel, and the upper part made into a mirror. It's painted with a pearlescent finish for a shimmering, high-quality look, making it a super dreamy item for daily touch-ups!
