The story of 《GHOST IN THE SHELL》 is set in the highly advanced near-future of 2029, where a mysterious hacker known as the "Puppet Master" (人形使い) rises, initiating international terrorist acts by hacking into the Japanese Foreign Minister's interpreter cyborg.
