Danish toy company LEGO recently announced the latest product in its LEGO Ideas series: the "Gremlins: Gizmo", numbered 21361, has finally appeared! It is scheduled to be released on October 1, 2025, with a suggested retail price of US$109.99. Let's take a look at this product, which was originally designed by amateur LEGO fan terauma.
Gizmo is the furry, adorable protagonist from the 1984 horror-comedy film "Gremlins". Also known as a "Mogwai", it was originally a cute, unknown creature kept as a pet, but if the owner violates the three rules: "no bright lights", "no water", and "no feeding after midnight", disaster could strike. In the film, the Gremlins that multiplied after Gizmo came into contact with water later transformed into evil monsters, wreaking havoc without restraint.
In terauma's initial design, the LEGO Gizmo was built with approximately 400 pieces, recreating its iconic large ears and head. The furry visual effect on its legs was achieved by positioning white claw pieces upwards. The ear construction is very cute, and curved flesh-colored bar pieces were used to outline the three-dimensional edges.
The LEGO "Gremlins: Gizmo" consists of 1125 pieces. Once assembled, it stands approximately 20 cm tall, and with its two large ears extended, the length reaches 27 cm, truly resembling a small, adorable pet. The overall fidelity is very high, especially the construction of the hands and feet, which is closer to the original. The head's contour is also more refined, and its pair of large eyes become more endearing the more you look at them. Furthermore, it can stand or sit, its head can rotate, and its ears, fingers, and toes are adjustable, allowing for a wide range of pose variations! Accessories include 3D glasses for the Mogwai to play with, and a somewhat ominous splash piece that can be attached to its back.
