Bandai's GASHAPON capsule toy division is releasing a product based on the electronic instrument invented by Maywa Denki – the "Otamatone Marker Charms" capsule toy. The suggested retail price is 300 JPY per turn, and it is scheduled for release in the second week of September 2025!
"Maywa Denki," a cutting-edge design performance group under Japan's Yoshimoto Kogyo, specializes in various entertaining performances using self-made instruments. The instruments used in their performances are all developed by the group's "President," Nobumichi Tosa, who then collaborates with toy manufacturers to mass-produce and sell these self-made instruments through performance opportunities. Among all the products developed, the most famous and best-selling is undoubtedly the electronic musical toy named "Otamatone." Its cute, note-like shape, paired with its dot eyes and enchanting sound, has captivated many at first sight. To date, it has been released in various sizes, colors, and even multiple collaborative designs!

GASHAPON's Marker Charm series features a rubber ring attached to the charm, allowing it to be placed on items like umbrellas for marking, so you won't pick up the wrong one! This time, the Otamatone Marker Charms transform the popular Otamatone into a charm of approximately 3.3 cm. In this miniature size, the classic design is faithfully reproduced, with two styles: closed mouth and open mouth. The closed-mouth style includes five colors: blue, white, orange, pink, and green. The open-mouth style includes five colors: black, yellow, mint, purple, and red, making a total of ten color variations. Although they don't have sound-producing functions, one can't help but feel as if they can faintly hear various enchanting performances once hung!
