TAKARA TOMY's toy brand T-ARTS will release a new gashapon series in collaboration with Japanese woodcraft brand KIYATA this September: the "KIYATA Woodcraft Art Miniature Collection" (木工アート ミニチュアコレクション)! Each gashapon will be priced at 400 JPY, with a total of four designs to collect.

Born in 2008, the woodcraft brand KIYATA was founded by Japanese artist Shinobu Moshino and his wife Yuka. Characterized by their aim to "add a touch of fantasy to interior spaces," KIYATA's hand-carved home decor and items make you feel as if you've stepped into a mysterious forest. Each animal-shaped wooden item exudes a vibrant lifelike quality, not only unique but also representing KIYATA's questioning and challenge to today's consumer-driven culture. The brand name KIYATA comes from the Sinhalese word for "saw."
This time, T-ARTS has miniaturized KIYATA's classic woodcraft art pieces into approximately 6 cm tall three-dimensional figures, including the "Flying Squirrel Lamp," "Otter Basket," "Panda Accessory Box," and "Rabbit Mirror." The Rabbit Mirror can actually be used as a mirror, the Otter Basket's lid and the Panda Accessory Box's drawer can be opened, and the Flying Squirrel Lamp comes with a golden bead chain so it can be hung on a bag as a charm. Each one is incredibly adorable! In addition to the exquisite sculptural presentation, the hand-carved textures imbued in the works are also nicely depicted. This is definitely a must-buy complete set!
