Just two months ago, I had the pleasure of building an amazing pirate ship, the "Going Merry"; I can't believe I get to build another one so soon! Can life get any better?! Today, let's dive into the 2025 flagship release, the "10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirateship"!

In the 2003 film "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl," The Black Pearl is a ship of paramount importance, shrouded in legends such as being "a ship that can't be caught," "sailing with black sails," and having "a cursed crew"... Few have ever truly seen it. However, on the night The Black Pearl raided Port Royal, the world witnessed the formidable firepower of this terrifying ghost ship.
This new version of The Black Pearl, now named "Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirateship," boasts 2862 pieces. Compared to the 2011 LEGO release "4184 The Black Pearl," which had only 804 pieces, this new set has over two thousand more parts, and its size is truly a space-killer! Now, let's get right to it and take a look at the packaging for "Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirateship." The premium dark background, combined with the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series logo, looks fantastic, with the product name located in the top-left corner.

▼ The back shows another angle of the completed model, close-ups of various sections, play features, and specifications.

▼ The completed model is impressively large, reaching 64 cm in both length and height.

▼ The top displays all the minifigures. There are 8 characters from the movie plus the figurehead, which we'll take a closer look at later.

▼ After admiring the box, let's unbox it! The contents include one thick instruction manual, a total of 2862 pieces, and the black sails packaged in an envelope.

▼ Ooh! The pirate flag is definitely worth treasuring.

▼ In addition to the 22 numbered bags of parts, there are also black elements for constructing the hull, masts, and rigging.

▼ Since this is a movie-themed set, it's always more satisfying to have some background information! Opening the instruction manual reveals an introduction to "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" and descriptions of the included minifigures.

▼ There are also spectacular sea battle scenes, an introduction to The Black Pearl, and a message from the LEGO design team.

▼ Alright, let's start building! GO~
▼ It's finished!! First, let's take a look at this brand-new version of the pirate ship from all angles. This 2025 edition of the ghost ship is built to a scale that is "close" to minifigure scale. In my personal opinion, the shaping and construction of the hull are outstanding. Paired with the imposing black sails (though not as tattered as in the movie), the overall model exudes an incredibly powerful presence.

▼ As is tradition, I'd like to share some of the building process with all you toy fans~ First off is that satisfying feeling of completing the first bag of parts and finishing the ship's lower hull! If you haven't built it yourself, you'd never guess that this dark, black ghost ship contains such colorfully vibrant parts inside (laughs).

▼ After the lower hull is complete, the next step is the assembly and installation of the 16 cannons.

▼ During the process of building up the hull, you can really feel the designer's dedication to shaping; the subtle angle changes in various sections are also quite impressive!

▼ The captain's cabin windows are constructed with a large number of transparent pieces, adding a great deal of depth to this dark vessel.

▼ The sails are attached using the classic LEGO pirate ship method of sliding them onto round-headed pieces.

▼ Regarding this pirate ship, I'd first like to point out a major advantage from a photographer's perspective: the hull can be separated at the waterline. This allows the ghost ship to be displayed beautifully on its wood-grain-textured stand, or removed from the stand to depict it sailing on the water. If you ever want to take this pirate ship to the beach for a photoshoot, this feature is crucial and should make your photos much more immersive.

▼ Since part of the rudder would be underwater while sailing, a section of it must naturally be detached.

▼ Now let's examine the details of the hull! We'll start with the winged figurehead at the bow.

▼ The deck can be removed, revealing a hidden treasure chest and the cannons below.

▼ The ship's wheel is fully functional; turning it controls the direction of the rudder.

▼ My personal favorite part of the ghost ship's exterior is the captain's cabin.

▼ Opening it up reveals the exquisite interior space.

▼ Turn the gear to fire the cannons! The moment the cannon muzzles extend from the gunports is super cool, I could play with this all day~

▼ Next, let's look at the minifigures in this set! From left to right in the picture below are Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann, and Gibbs. The Jack minifigure comes with his classic captain's hat and hair piece, and the printing all over his body is exquisite. Elizabeth is immortalized in her gorgeous golden gown.

▼ The alternate expressions are all very intense (laughs). Jack's panicked face looks like it could be used for many fun photos.

▼ The other four are Captain Hector Barbossa, Anamaria, Marty, and Cotton with his parrot.

▼ Captain Barbossa and Anamaria come with alternate faces. The cursed version of Captain Barbossa is especially worth collecting! He also comes with a beautifully printed Aztec gold coin.

▼ Jack's small boat. The hull is surprisingly intact with no leaks—I'm docking points for that (laughs).

▼ Another beautifully printed piece is Jack's compass.

LEGO 10365 "Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirateship" Unboxing Summary:
It's been since 2011 that LEGO last released this classic ghost ship from "Pirates of the Caribbean." That was set number 4184 The Black Pearl, which had 804 pieces and included minifigures of Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Joshamee Gibbs, Davy Jones, Maccus, and Bootstrap Bill.
This new version shows significant improvements in the hull's design, interactivity, and interior detail. The sails also feature a tattered appearance. However, compared to the old version, I personally feel the presentation of the curved surfaces is a bit more rigid. But the deployable cannon mechanism, the beautiful captain's cabin, and the waterline separation feature are all truly captivating!
